Home Depot website
July 21st, 2006Home Depot is a large supermarket of a hardware store. It can be conveniant to go there and get a lot of your home maintenance and construction needs in one place, and they often have decent pricing if not always the best. I am not a huge fan of their website, however.
My fiancé and I are using Home Depot as one of our gift registries for our wedding, which is coming up in a few weeks. The site is not terrible at managing it, and if you have not been in a Home Depot store than the website is usable. The problem, though, is that the codes on the products in the store do not correspond to the codes on the products on the website. There is also a different inventory on the website than in the store. It has made it a bit more difficult to find things on the website than it should be.
To begin with, you are hit and miss if you keyword search that you will choose the right keywords to get what you want out of the site. Searching through the categories and subcategories is more accurate if you know exactly which department something is in. It can be a little tedious, though, especially when you are not sure whether something is in one category or another.
I recommend going into the store and just buying your things there rather than trying to use their online website. There is probably one near you; they are located all over the country. There are 3 that I can easily get to throughout the day. One a bit north of where I live, one quite close to where I work, and one a bit further south from where I work. Now that is coverage!
