Ants do not belong in the house
July 24th, 2006I am not a big fan of ants. They get into everything, and everything includes my house. For a few months now, we have been seeing them in every room of the house. The cat has tried playing with a few, but since most of them can not fly she is not very excited by them and usually ignores them now.
I heard an ad about a powder you spread around your house that acts as bait for the ants when I was listening to the radio yesterday. I missed the name of the product as I had just started my truck, but I will have to keep an ear out for it. The ants bring it back into the nest and kill their queen with it.
Pouring spent sanitizer down the ant hill did not work, so I might research this stuff if I can find out what it is and whether it works or not. I am leery about putting ant poison in the house, because I do not want my cat to eat anything that might get into it. I will either find something that will work in the next month or two, or else just wait three or four months for winter to kill them and make it a non-issue. Until then, I will just keep crushing the ants and tossing them in the trash.

[…] We have ants in our house, and I do not like ants because ants do not belong in the house. So far, we just kill them when we see them and toss them in the trash. Except for the cat; if she kills one she generally just leaves it on the floor for us to pick up. Normally she will ignore them, though. […]

[…] Well, our small ant problem that turned into a somewhat larger ant problem is for the most part solved. […]
