Having good friends makes the whole process easier

Having good friends makes the whole process easier. What process? Well, just about any process involved with your home. Helping to pack up your (way too many) belongings, helping you move, helping you unpack, helping you rearrange furniture, helping you put furniture back together, helping you eat your food; there all kinds of things made easier by having friends available who are willing to help out.

This weekend we had a few friends come over and help us get done making our wedding favors. My soon to be sister in law helped us finish boxing up the beers, and yesterday we finished boxing the root beers. It was a not small process; once the root beer was labelled, we had to afix a sticker to the back that we could use to hot-glue the bottle to the box. Then the box had to be wrapped with ribbon (which had to be cut) and then a paper button had to be affixed to the top. The button consisted of 3 circles of blue card stock and then a piece of white card stock with the root beer or beer label printed on it all glued together. They look quite nice, but without the extra hands the whole process takes a lot longer.

It was also nice having help to rearrange and put together some furniture that had been sitting around for the last few months. First, because we did not have time to put it together, then because we had no idea where the hardware was for it, and then because it was too warped to put together and we had to put the boards under a half dozen boxes of books. It was also great having help moving some cinder blocks out of our shed and into the basement; this made it much easier to arrange things in the shed so that it will be easier to get my bike out, the trash out, and the lawn mower out depending upon what I need at any given time.

So my advice to you? Make some friends. If they ever need help, be sure to help them out with their heavy labor. Hopefully, they will help you out with yours. If not, then hey, hopefully you will have been fed.
