Home Depot makes it possible to get the insulation home
October 30th, 2006I have not yet purchased the insulation for my attic. It was raining too hard this weekend, and I am supposed to be tapering for a marathon, so I decided to wait for a few weeks before I purchased it. One of my concerns about buying a lot of insulation at once was that there was no way I would get it home in one trip. I have a pickup truck, but insulation can take up a lot of space (hence the point of having it) and a small Ranger just will not cut it. There is a solution, though!
Home Depot allows for you to purchase the insulation on will call. You bring the SKU to the register, purchase how much you want, and then make as many trips as necessary to pick it up. They prefer that you pick everything you buy up within 10 days of purchasing it, but they will allow you more time as long as you let them know ahead of time.
When I was pricing the insulation I would need, I made sure to get as many details as I could, and it seems like this will make it really easy. The biggest hurdle now will be borrowing a ladder again and making sure that my legs are not going to be too sore for me to get up in the attic!
I imagine that other local stores may also allow for the will call system, but since Home Depot had the best price and a good rebate I did not investigate anywhere else.
