PPP bought Performancing
December 28th, 2006Not homeowner news, but a service that I use is Performancing Metrics. They recently came out with an ad network to go along with the metrics package and their firefox plugin, and were getting bogged down with the cost of running the web tracking tool.

Pay Per Post, a service where you can get paid to blog, bought their community website and their metrics package. The ad network and the firefox plugin are going to be renamed and will be retained by the performancing crew.
Anybody that is running their own blog, though, I do have to recommend the metrics. I am not sure how I feel about the folks at Pay Per Post having access to my website statistics, but since I currently make my sitemeter stats public I guess I shouldn’t overly worry about it.
The tool tracks people as they come to your site and gives you basic statistics about where they came from, what they looked at, what their screen resolution is, and most importantly how they found you. Knowing what search terms people are finding your website through makes it a lot easier to figure out what people want to read about on your site.
For example, most people find my site by searching for “first time home owner” or some variation, or when they are trying to unclog their toilet. Thankfully, I have not had any problems with my toilet for quite a while.
Please Note: This is a sponsored post.
Update: The deal fell through, and Performancing Metrics is going to become open source. I am pretty happy at that news, even if it does mean that I will lose access to the metrics for a short time while they rewrite the code to be installable elsewhere.
